Ladies of 205

Hello Ladies!

So Molly had this idea awhile ago, that we have a blank book of sorts that we would each write in and tell each other whats going on in our lives as a way to keep in touch. Its a great idea. But let's be honest, I am too busy/lazy/not motivated enough to routinely mail the book to the next person on the list. We've all grown up...but I probably wont reach that maturity level until I am retired. haha!

I suggest however, we use something we are all comfortable with, and that is the world wide web. Even on my CRAZIEST days, when security has been called in 5 times to my room, and grades are due at the end of the week, and the test is not written and I have no plans even concieved for the review...i still have time to check my email/facebook/craigslist/insert waste of time website here!

I have not kept in touch with you all as much as I would have liked. So i think this is a great way for all of us to reconnect and keep in better contact. I think of each one of you often and remember fondly our lovely, and HUGE college apartment at 1616 S Henderson Apt 205.

So to get this party started, ill post. I have spent the summer in between Chicago and Detroit. I have taught summer school, which has pretty much sucked, until every other friday when I get my paycheck and remember why I signed up to teach it this summer. However, I have complained every day for the last 7 weeks about teaching in an un airconditioned building when everyone in my classroom, ECSPECIALLY me, would rather be spending our summer break anywhere other than learning about World Studies. But, thank goodness, the end is in sight, and my torture ends Thursday.

I am back at Englewood, for better or worse. Finding a job in Detroit, was just not going to happen for this fall. And, if I cant be in Detroit with Julian, I definetely want to be at Englewood in Chicago. Long distance wont be easy, but we've done it before, and minus the 60,000 miles I have on my 3 yr old car, it hasnt been all that bad. There are definetely benefits as well, he gets to live a year on his own, and become accustomed to his work just as I had a year to do that myself. I also get to be at my first school for 2 years, and I am "off the hook" excited to see how much better I am the second time around!

So I will close now. I cant wait to hear from all of you and see whats going on, and heres to hoping we can all reminisce about 205, and share the events of the grown up world together.

Love,

Laura
